OK, you’ve heard of AI, maybe messed around with ChatGPT and used Dall.E or CrAIyon to generate cool images of Angela Lansbury training Muay Thai.
Sometimes I get articles sent to me that reads like this…
Running a small business can be challenging. But advancements in technology have opened a world of opportunities. Small business owners can use digital tools to streamline operations. As well as improve efficiency, and boost productivity.
That’s… interesting? Sounds totally natural, right?
Rest assured tender writers and graphic designers, your job is safe. AI has a place but it’s more like a framework or a starting point to save an exorbitant amount of time on the basics. It’s handy to get some of the smaller steps out of the way but we are a long way away from telling our laptops to do our job while we go out for kebabs.
You need a Copilot
One very cool feature I had heard about recently was Microsoft Copilot. I started looking around for this magical Copilop program to make my job easier but it’s not just a program, it’s the back-end integration of AI across Microsoft products which is being rolled out across all Microsoft 365 applications. The majority of Microsoft products talk to each other. With Copilot you can have some AI wizardry look through these pieces of content across various platforms and generate content based on what’s important. Again, it’s not going to do your job for you but it’s going to save you loads of time by streamlining the mundane tasks.
NOTE: If you’re looking for the Copilot integration in Word/Excel/Teams, etc you may not have access to it just yet. It is being deployed selectively across enterprise Microsoft customers first, then to the broader audience. If you’re a tinkerer like myself and NEED to paly with every new feature as soon as possible you can access it by jumping through a few hoops but it may be better to wait it out to ensure that your instance is properly supported.
Lisa Crosbie from Microsoft sums it up perfectly in the video below, and has some great real-world use cases for Copilot’s functionality.
How about a meeting summary generated from transcripts for a teams meeting which you couldn’t attend, or a recap of the first 10 minutes which you missed?
Or a PowerPoint slideshow based on the notes and emails relating to a project our team is working on?
Or a draft proposal based on your emails and OneNote content?
This is the stuff we love at Junius Solutions. These are the timesavers which help you focus on the cool stuff and automate the basics so you can get more done with less.
