How do you sort through the noise to manage tasks from a shared mailbox?
So you’re back to work now. You may have spent the time over the holiday break soaking up ideas from books by Patrick Lencioni, James Collins, Gino Wickman, etc and now you’re ready to smash 2023.
Then you open Outlook. Your mailbox is… tolerable. Your shared mailboxes are a nightmare. The number of emails in your accounts@ or sales@ mailbox are overwhelming, and since everybody has been on break you aren’t sure where any of the action points are, or which emails have already been .
Microsoft have the answer in Planner, and if you are an Office 365 user you already have access to it.
Microsoft Planner is a task management tool that helps you organize and manage your work. It is part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of productivity tools, which means you can access it from anywhere with an internet connection, as well as from your desktop or mobile device.
Planner gives Microsoft 365 users the ability to create visual task boards, which allow you to see the progress of your team’s work at a glance. You can create different boards for different projects or teams, and each board can be customized with different colors and labels to help you keep track of tasks by priority or status. In this regard Planner is similar to many collaborative board tools which you may have used such as Monday, Asana or Trello. The primary difference is the level of integration and automation which you can take advantage of with Power Automate.
One of the main features of Microsoft Planner is the ability to create and assign tasks to team members. Each task can be given a due date, description, and attachments, making it easy to keep track of what needs to be done and by when. You can also add comments and @mention team members to keep everyone in the loop.
